Overview

The Cosminnox ("we", "us", "our"), operated by IDC INDIA Innovation Development Council, is committed to protecting your privacy. For the personal data we process through the Platform, we act as the "Data Fiduciary" under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 (DPDP Rules). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and what rights you have as a "Data Principal".

This Policy applies to all users of the Cosminnox platform — including our website, mobile applications, newsletters, and subscription services — regardless of how you access them.

02

Data We Collect

Account & Identity Data: When you create an account or subscribe, we collect your name, email address, billing information, and chosen credentials.

Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Platform — including pages visited, articles read, time spent, search queries, device type, browser, IP address, and referring URLs.

Communication Data: When you contact us or submit content, we retain the contents of those communications and your contact details.

Cookie & Tracking Data: We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to recognise you, remember preferences, and serve relevant content. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

We collect only the personal data that is necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.

03

How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to: provide and personalise the Platform experience; process subscriptions and payments; send editorial newsletters and transactional communications; analyse Platform usage to improve content and features; comply with our legal obligations; and prevent fraud or abuse.

We process your data only for the specific purposes stated in the notice shown to you, and only with your consent or another lawful ground permitted by the DPDP Act. You can withdraw your consent at any time, and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out lawfully before you withdrew.

We will not use your personal data for automated decision-making that produces significant legal effects without your consent.

Where we send you marketing communications, we rely on your consent. You may opt out at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.

04

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted third-party service providers who process data on our behalf — such as payment processors, email delivery services, analytics platforms, and cloud infrastructure providers — under strict data processing agreements.

We may disclose data where required by law, court order, or regulatory authority; to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Cosminnox, our users, or the public; or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger or acquisition.

05

Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies (required for the Platform to function), preference cookies (to remember your settings), analytics cookies (to understand usage patterns), and advertising cookies (where applicable for marketing). You can opt out of non-essential cookies via our cookie consent banner or browser settings.

We use Google Analytics and similar tools to collect aggregated, anonymised usage statistics. These services may set their own cookies. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.

06

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by law. Account data is retained for the duration of your subscription and for up to two years following account deletion, after which it is permanently erased or anonymised.

Usage logs and analytics data are typically retained for 24 months in identifiable form, then aggregated or deleted.

07

Your Rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to: obtain a summary of the personal data we process about you and how we process it; request correction, completion, or updating of your data; request erasure of your data; withdraw your consent at any time; seek grievance redressal; and nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated.

To exercise any of these rights, email editorial@idcindia.net with the subject line "Data Rights Request". We aim to respond within 30 days and will resolve every grievance within the period set by the DPDP Rules, which is no more than 90 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.

08

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures — including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security audits — to protect your data against unauthorised access, disclosure, or destruction.

While we take all reasonable precautions, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. If we become aware of a personal data breach affecting you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law. If you suspect a security breach, please notify us immediately at editorial@idcindia.net

09

Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18. Under the DPDP Act, processing a child's data requires verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian, and we do not offer services to children. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10

International Transfers

Your data may be processed or stored outside India. Where we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect it to the standards described in this Policy, and we do not transfer personal data to any country or territory that the Government of India has restricted.

11

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be announced on the Platform and by email. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Platform after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
